With this abstraction I choose a contemporary form-language and deviate from traditional figurative altar-representations which since the middle ages mirror on a golden background the awareness of a different time in which "gold" also stood for the light of god.

Since the One-Earth-Church is not intended to be used exclusively as a sacral room but also for other events I designed the One-Earth-Altar as a triptych in the style of medieval altars.

The altar alludes to the east-west orientation of the churces and the measurements of the apse. This way, the "light" of the rising sun is perceived as transferred religious dimension and as aesthetic-spatial structure element.
