Region of winning of the Middle Germany\'s brown coal and importand location of chemical industry.
Geological relevance of location
In the late seventies of 20th century a new deposit of amber was found during the mining of brown coal. This amber is approx. 12 Million years younger (biostratigraphical and isotopic age determination) than Baltic amber. There are a lot of amber inclusions with excellent conservation of animal and plants.
