Historical relevance of location
The sample stems out of the final repository for radioactive waste (ERA) Morsleben, a radioactive waste disposal, which is located in the geological formation Zechstein. In former times the mine was used for potash mining. During the Second World War there was a factory for weapons. Later on cockerels were fattenend underground.
